Blocks Lockers (“Blocks”) allow you to send, store and receive packages in a simple and hassle-free way. To do this and for you to be able to use our smart lockers using the Blocks application (in its web, mobile and static forms, the “Application”), we need some of your personal data.
In order to provide “you” (as the user of our services, in particular the Application; the “User”) and the “Manager” (the entity that uses the Application for specific Blocks in a specific property) with the basic functionality of the Application, we (Property Blocks) collect the following personal data through the Application: e-mail address, phone number, first and last name (if you sign up via Facebook).
If you provide your personal data, we, Property Blocks s.r.o., with its registered office at Kaizlovy sady 434/13, Praha 8 – KarlĂn, 186 00, Id. No.: 01965603, registered in the Commercial Register kept by the Municipal Court in Prague under File No. C 293425 (hereinafter referred to as “we”, “our” or “us”), acts as the data controller. We would like to inform you about the processing of your personal data and about your rights related to the processing based on Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council, as amended (“GDPR”).
All capitalised terms used in this Privacy Policy that are not defined herein have the meaning defined in the Terms of Use.
What do we use your data for?
Mutual communication
We want to be open and transparent. This also includes being open for communication with anyone who is interested in our products. To accomplish this goal, we have published an e-mail address, where you can contact us at any time with any questions regarding our products. However, in order to ensure effective, error-free and clear communication, we process some of your personal data (including unstructured personal data contained in the e-mail correspondence). We obtain this data from you and your questions and from our potential business partners.
Promotion of our events
We may also process your personal data in the form of photographs and audio-visual recordings, your names and surnames and e-mail contact that serve the purpose and legitimate interests of promoting our events and services and help us improve our brand and goodwill through, e.g., notifications of new products and subsequent marketing materials related to our events, and publishing photographs (where you can appear) and audio-visual recordings on our social media profiles, such as LinkedIn, or through other channels, e.g. our website. We obtain this data from participants at the events that we host or take part in.
Targeted communication via our website and promotion of products
In order to further develop our business, we keep looking for potential clients. In addition to the above, our website also serves this purpose as it uses third-party services (such as Google Analytics) to help us find potential business partners and collect statistical data to promote the sale of our products. Your personal data are not used in these cases because they are anonymous; however, to ensure maximum transparency, we also want to let you know of such processing of your activities on our website.
Co-operation with business partners
If we co-operate with you as business partners, we need your personal data to conclude contracts and to implement our business relationship. Such data will be used in the relevant contract and may also appear on tax receipts, invoices, business cards or in unstructured form in e-mail communication. We obtain this data from you, our potential business partners, customers and contractual partners.
Application
Operation
We use the personal data we obtain from you for the operation, maintenance, improvement and provision of all functions of the service, to provide the required services and information, respond to comments and questions and to provide support to the Users of the service. We receive the Users’ (your) personal data when you first create an Account.
Improvement of our services
Since we are interested in improving the quality of our services, we may use some of your personal data to analyse and generate statistics. In this case, however, your data is anonymised and is not personal data as such. However, to ensure maximum transparency, we also want to let you know of this manner of processing data.
Communication
We may use your e-mail address or other information to contact you and ensure the operation, functionality and security of both the Application and the specific Blocks.
For what purpose does the Manager use your data?
Automation of reception services
Some of your personal data, such as e-mail address and telephone number, are made available to the Manager in the web administrator interface in order to ensure smooth operation of the Blocks.
Communication
The Manager also uses your personal data to contact the user of the service in order to ensure the operation of a specific locker or to contact the User with regard to questions concerning operation or security.
Property Blocks does not make use of automated decision-making.
Who is the controller and who is the processor?
Public Blocks may also be used without prior authorisation by the Manager. Private Blocks may be used after prior authorisation by the Manager.
We keep some of your personal data for a period of 3 years from the cancellation of your Account for reasons of legal defence in potential disputes.
Other recipients of your data
A recipient of your personal data is a person to whom we provide your personal data specifically so that they can perform some of our activities for us (outsourcing). In our activities, we use the following recipients of your personal data.
We may also be obliged to provide your personal data to governmental authorities, especially to courts and prosecuting bodies (the Police and the public prosecutor’s office), but only to the necessary extent and within the scope required by law.
How do we protect your data?
It is in our utmost interest to ensure that your personal data are protected to the greatest extent possible. For this reason, we place the highest possible demands on our processors to whom we further provide your personal data. We pay great attention to external risks and use modern security systems that eliminate this threat (firewall, antivirus security).
Third countries
Your personal data are processed in the territory of the country where Property Blocks s.r.o. has its registered office and other EU Member States. Your personal data may be processed by a company with a registered office outside the European Union if the European Commission has decided that the third country ensures an adequate level of protection (e.g. the Privacy Shield Framework) or if there are other appropriate data protection safeguards (e.g. binding corporate rules on personal data protection or EU standard contractual on data protection).
